New Article: Deadpool 2 Had Another Small Hugh Jackman Reference That Most People Missed

Hello everybody,

Deadpool 2 is finally here and, as you might expect, it’s bulging with easter eggs. Of course, most superhero movies feature a whole lot of easter eggs and references to the comic books they’re based on and maybe other films in the same franchise, so this might not sound like anything too surprising. Deadpool 2, however, is on a completely different level.

"Due to its fourth wall breaking nature and the quip-happy tendencies of its titular character, the pic takes aim at every major superhero franchise there is, makes fun of various other famous movies along the way and, of course, also drops in a lot of jokes that will make comic book readers laugh out loud but possibly sail over the heads of general audiences.

Obviously, there are a whole handful of easter eggs related to Hugh Jackman and in particular, Wolverine, which was to be expected. But there’s also one smaller nod hidden in the film that references one of the actor’s other roles, and most people seemed to have completely missed it.

When Russell and DP are thrown into prison, the former’s inmate number is 24601. Nothing odd about that, right? Well, those of you who know your musicals should instantly recognize the number, as it’s the same one assigned to Jean Valjean, who Jackman played in the 2012 adaptation of Les Miserables.

Of course, it could just be a coincidence, but what are the odds that the filmmakers behind Deadpool 2 would end up with the exact same 5 digit number? Couple that with the fact that there are a bunch of other nods to Hugh in the sequel as well, and we’re all but certain that this was deliberate.

Tell us, did you spot any easter eggs in Deadpool 2 that you think others might’ve missed? If so, be sure to share them with us in the comments section down below. Alternatively, if you’re still trying to discover them all, check out our handy guide."

New Article: Blake Lively Teases Ryan Reynolds And Hugh Jackman’s Bromance

Posted on 20 May 2018 by Admin

Hello everybody,

Blake Lively isn’t fooled. The actress hilariously teased the bromance between her husband Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on Thursday by jabbing at the hunky actors’ awkward pose in an Instagram photo. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

"Reynolds visited Jackman’s Laughing Man coffee store in New York City and posed with Jackman, who joked in a caption that the “Deadpool 2” star had shown up to apply for a barista job.

Reynolds then shared a pic of the two with their arms around each other and confessed that he pursued Jackman there.

Lively noticed that the two leading men kept a proper gap between them, so she ribbed her husband in the comments.

“Is the extra distance between you supposed to convince me that you DON’T love him more than me?? Nice try,” she said."

Project Updates: Hugh Jackman teases Ryan Reynolds about becoming a barista

Posted on 18 May 2018 by Admin
Projects icon

Hello everybody,

Is this an indication of how Hugh thinks Deadpool 2 is going to do? Ryan Reynolds stopped by Hugh Jackman's non-profit java company Laughing Man Coffee, and all Jackman can think of is putting Reynolds to work! The duo is known for their social media sparring, so it's no surprise that Jackman is again teasing his buddy.

"While there will not be a Deadpool/Logan mashup since Jackman refused Reynold's many, many offers to work together, it does look like Ryan can make a cuppa. People reported that a pic saying Reynolds was hired popped up on Jackman's feed later that day.

Laughing Man Coffee Company was co-founded by Jackman in 2011 after he was inspired by an Ethiopian coffee farmer's fight to get out of poverty. The Wolverine actor set up the storefront in New York City to give third world farmers a place to sell their goods. All proceeds go to social entrepreneurs worldwide.

Deadpool 2 hits theatres May 18. Jackman begrudgingly endorsed the film while also plugging the coffee shop, saying," I am going to say this once and then delete it quickly: Deadpool 2 is a work of genius. It is epic ... Damn it. I can't believe I said that."

Deadpool 2 is tracking to earn between $130 million and $150 million in North American theaters alone this weekend. We're pretty sure Ryan won't need a second job."

New Article: Hugh Jackman gets the last laugh with Laughing Man Coffee charity and "The Greatest Showman"

Posted on 17 May 2018 by Admin

Hello everybody,

Hugh Jackman is plenty proud of his new charitable company, Laughing Man Coffee. The X-Men film franchise star had some famous inspiration for his venture, which was itself inspired by a trip to Ethiopia with the charity group WorldVision. Jackman worked shoulder-to-shoulder with a farmer named Dukale. “I made a promise to him …that I would do whatever I could to get his story out and to help him,” Jackman tells ABC News.

"It didn’t take the self-described coffee addict long to get the ball rolling.

“I was on the plane reading Paul Newman’s book about how he started Newman’s Own,” says Jackman. “And so, by the time I came back, I rang my mate Barry, who had been in the coffee business for 30 years, and I said, ‘Dude, I got an idea: Let’s start a non for profit company around coffee that will give back to the growers.’ And that was the beginning of Laughing Man.”

Regarding the Oscar-nominee’s day job, he’s still blown away by the sleeper success of his musical The Greatest Showman. When the movie opened, Jackman reveals “There was not one email in my inbox, which is always a bad sign. Crickets, literally crickets.”

However, the movie gained steam every week since its opening, eventually building to a global box office total of more than $430 million, and counting.

Of late, we’ve also seen Jackman being again wooed by Ryan Reynolds’ alter-ego frenemy, Deadpool. Jackman’s response? “Just back it up a little,” he sarcastically advised his friend. “It’s just a little much…Play a little hard to get. It’s not sexy.”"

New Article: Hugh Jackman says 'Our show works best LIVE' News From Cannes!

Posted on 15 May 2018 by Admin

Hello everybody,

THE GREATEST SHOWMAN musical plans are racing ahead as the soundtrack returns to the top of the UK album chart and Hugh Jackman promises the show is even better "live." The musical movie has been the shock smash of the last six months. Poor early reviews and a slow start at cinemas were transformed when the soundtrack became an international sensation.

"Five months later and it has just returned to the top of the UK album charts this weekend, its remarkable fifteenth week at Number One. It is the biggest album of the year and confirms just how much the fans love songs like Keatle Settle's showstopping This Is Me, Rewrite The Stars, The Greatest Show and Never Enough.

Industry big wigs are now realising that fans will flock to a stage version to see their favourite songs performed live and major Broadway plans are underway.

Recently leading man Jackman, who played PT Barnum, said: "We were talking about a live version of the show even before [the movie] came out.

“There was a discussion at one point in the eight-year journey of this movie of maybe going live first...

“When Keala Settle got up, stood in the middle of a room and sang This Is Me with no makeup, no nothing, no anything, there was not a dry eye in the house. The music really works live.”

Word is coming from the Cannes Film Festival of what comes next. The latest reports from the international festival say that Broadway and West End plans are now the priority, rather than any big screen sequel.

Talking about the idea of a major stage version, Benj Pasek, who co-wrote The Greatest Showman’s songs said: “We're really thinking about whatever else could happen with this piece and with these songs, these performances.

“How can we get it to those people who have championed it and who have, in a way, made it theirs? How can we give something else back to them?”"

New Appearance: Hugh Jackman Calls Out Ryan Reynolds On 'Good Morning America'

Posted on 14 May 2018 by Admin

Hello everybody,

The war of words between Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman rumbles on for yet another round, and this time it's the Aussie actor Hugh sending for his Canadian counterpart. The two of them have been going back and forth for some time, and now Hugh has called out Ryan for trying too hard on live TV.

"Don't worry, the pair are actually really good friends, they just engage in friendly insults with one another in increasingly public forums.

Hugh was appearing on Good Morning America yesterday and asked if he could send a personal message to his friend.

Now, we think this is a reference to Ryan's constant jibing at his friends (and even his wife) in the Deadpool films - Hugh looked straight down the camera and said: "Ryan, I love you, man. I love Deadpool. I can't wait to see the movie, you're one of my best friends. Blake [Lively, the actor to whom Ryan is married], the family, the whole thing.

"But back it up a little. Play a little hard to get. It's too much - It's not sexy."

We can guess from this that there is going to be at least one Jackman/Wolverine joke in Deadpool 2, which is released next week."

Project Updates: Exclusive Hugh Jackman To Star As Gary Hart In "The Frontrunner" Biopic!

Posted on 12 May 2018 by Admin
Projects icon

Hello everybody,

Sony Pictures has acquired the worldwide distribution rights for a film about Gary Hart’s 1988 presidential bid. The studio said Thursday that it will release “The Front Runner” in the fall to coincide with both awards season and the election.

"Hugh Jackman is starring as Hart in the film from director Jason Reitman. The film will chronicle the politician’s rise and fall as an extramarital affair with a woman named Donna Rice became tabloid fodder and a national scandal.

Reitman says he can’t wait for audiences to see Jackman’s transformation into the complex figure. Reitman calls Jackman’s performance “humanist.”

The screenplay is based on journalist Matt Bai’s 2014 book “All the Truth is Out.” It was co-written by Reitman, Bai and former Hillary Clinton press secretary Jay Carson."

Project Updates: Exclusive Stephen Fry, Emma Thompson Join Laika’s ‘Missing Link’

Posted on 10 May 2018 by Admin
Projects icon

Hello everybody,

Laika’s newest animated feature has added an official title, “Missing Link,” a projected release and a full key voice cast with Stephen Fry and Emma Thompson joining the already-announced Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana and Zach Galifianakis. Stuart Ford’s new AGC Intl. is handling foreign sales.

"“Missing Link,” which unveiled the first photo in Cannes, is the first Laika title to be distributed in the U.S. by Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures. Laika’s first four features — “Kubo and the Two Strings,” “The Boxtrolls,” “ParaNorman” and “Coraline” — were released by Universal/Focus Films. All received Academy Award nominations.

Directed by “ParaNorman’s” Chris Butler, “Missing Link” also stars Timothy Olyphant, Matt Lucas, David Walliams, Ching Valdez-Aran and Amrita Acharia. Annapurna has set a spring 2019 U.S. release.

Laika president-CEO Travis Knight, who will meet with foreign distributors at Cannes, describes “Missing Link” as achieving “something we’ve never tried before: a raucous comedy entwined with a swashbuckling epic, underscoring the universal need to find belonging.”

Created with 110 sets and 65 unique locations, “Missing Link” turns on the charismatic Sir Lionel Frost (Jackman) who sets out to prove the existence of a legendary creature the Missing Link (Galifianakis), a soulful beast who, as the last of his kind, is rather lonely.

“It’s only now with our fifth film that as a team we have the experience, the know-how and the collaborative confidence to even attempt a movie of this size and scope,” said producer Arianne Sutner."

New Article: Sebastian Stan Says Hugh Jackman Has Talked About Returning As Wolverine

Posted on 03 May 2018 by Admin
Hugh icon

Hello everybody,

When the Disney FOX deal recently happened, many fans saw it as a chance for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to finally join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview soon after the deal, Jackman pretty quickly said that he was no longer interested in doing it, stating:

“…for the whole 17 years, I kept thinking that would be so great, like I would love to see, particularly, Iron Man and the Hulk and Wolverine together. And every time I saw an Avengers movie I could just see Wolverine in the middle of all of them like punching them all on the head. But it was like, ‘Oh well, that’s not gonna happen,’ and it was interesting just when I first saw that headline — it was just the possibility of it and who knows what’s gonna happen, obviously — I was like, ‘Hang on!’ But I think, unfortunately, the ship has sailed for me, but for someone else, I would like to see Wolverine in there.”

Apparently, though, The Winter Soldier himself, Sebastian Stan, said he recently spoke to Jackman – and it seemed as though he was still interested in returning:

“Recently I happened to be sitting next to Hugh Jackman. I didn’t know what another awkward thing I could talk about but to be like, ‘Am I going to see you soon?’ He said a couple of things to me and I’ll just leave it at that. Otherwise, I feel like I’m going to get into trouble with somebody.

I asked him though because I kept thinking whether or not Logan was supposed to be the last Wolverine thing or whatever and he said to me he’s been thinking about it and it’s been on his mind. So, I don’t know, he may be.”

I’d be surprised if he came back as Wolverine at this point, but it’d definitely be interesting to see. I’m not sure many fans would object to the idea, either.

What do you think? Would you like to see Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine?
