Hugh Jackman's Wolverine Cameo in X-Men: First Class Revealed!

Posted on 31 May 2011 by Admin

When X-Men: First Class producer Bryan Singer announced back in November of last year that Logan, aka Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) would not be making an appearance in the movie because "he's in the Wolverine movies," he dashed the hopes of many die-hard comic book movie fans who were anticipating the inclusion‚€”at least in cameo‚€” of the X-Men's most popular mutant. After all, Wolverine is extremely long-lived thanks to his mutant healing factor so Jackman could reprise the role even though First Class is set in the '60s. But, even as recently as a few weeks ago, Singer still insisted that h'e's not in it." Well, it now appears that, despite what Singer has been saying, Jackman does make an appearance in First Class as Wolverine in a funny cameo scene that perfectly suits the character.

Dean Piper, an entertainment columnist for the British Sunday Mirror was the first to reveal that Jackman had a cameo scene in a series of tweets about the movie following an early screening. He didn't go into detail, but BleedingCool (via CBM) subsequently provided the description of the cameo scene [SPOILER ALERT!].

"Champions aren't born. They're made." Holy crap is that super Shredder back from the dead?! No wait, it's just some gigantic robot fist punching through a boxing ring, hanging onto some heavy cable. The first teaser poster for Shawn Levy's robot fightin' movie Real Steel has debuted on ComingSoon. Everyone loves a good look at a poster, so here's one for ya. It's pretty basic and I prefer the viral Japanese poster more, but this still elicits some heavy metal promises. The first full trailer for Real Steel was debuted a couple of weeks ago, so check that out of if you haven't seen it yet. And let us know what you think of this new teaser poster!

Click on the poster below to see the full-size version on ComingSoon, if you want to see all the gritty details.

A boxing drama set in the future where 2,000 lbs robots controlled by humans do battle. Hugh Jackman stars as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who makes a comeback with a scrapmetal bot named Atom.

Real Steel is directed by Canadian family filmmaker Shawn Levy, of Just Married, Cheaper by the Dozen, The Pink Panther, Night at the Museum, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and Date Night most recently. The screenplay was written by John Gatins (Hard Ball, Coach Carter, Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story) from a story created by Dan Gilroy & Jeremy Leven (My Sister's Keeper, The Notebook). DreamWorks and Disney are bringing Real Steel to theaters everywhere on November 18th later this fall.

Hugh Jackman Works Magic On Stage In San Francisco Concert and Possibly Next Year In Houdini!

Posted on 10 May 2011 by Admin

Am off the the annual NY Drama Critics Circle meeting to choose the year's top play and musical. Expect some spirited debate on the play front and a no-brainer on the musical front. Will update you later tonight.

In the meantime, Hugh Jackman's been on my mind. A friend was in San Francisco and went to see Jackman's concert at the Curran Theater, where the sold-out event runs through May 15. Am told Jackman was his trademark cucumber cool and confident on stage, singing, dancing and plucking peeps out of the audience as he likes to do (think Sarah Jessica Parker at the Tonys he hosted). One of the guys Jackman pulled up onstage turned out to be a Jackman-o-phile.

Once onstage, the rabid fan took out a photo, which prompted Jackman to say, "Oh, hmm, it's a picture of ... us." Awkward. You never can tell. That goes for the inevitable question of when/if the concert is coming to Broadway. I'm told by a Broadway insider that the show needs work, so that could be later, not sooner. Among the NY Theateratti who've seen Jackman's SF show are director Jack O'Brien, designer David Rockwell and composer Stephen Schwartz.

Rockwell is producing "Houdini," the new musical starring Jackman that could arrive in NYC as early as fall of 2012. O'Brien is directing it. But what about Schwartz? Danny Elfman has been reported to be writing the music to the show about the famous magiciian. Has that changed? Has he done a disappearing act? Stay tuned .... Jackman is one of the those rare bankable stars who draws sell-out crowds on Broadway -- no matter who's penning the melodies. What do you think the secret to his appeal is?

Irrepressible fun with Hugh Jackman!

Posted on 07 May 2011 by Admin

Even if the premiere is not torn pants, Hugh Jackman is still enjoying the success. And yet at the end of nearly two-hour speech, he said that even if all that is possible, would go wrong - he still would have had a great time. The Australian star of stage and screen, the sexiest man according to the magazine People in 2008, just exuded charisma. He showed a great show, something better than just a collection of original elements.

Supported by a large orchestra and two singers, Broadway-level Jackman singing, dancing about and joking with adoring fans of musical theater, variety show (instead of Wolverine from the X-Men ").
The first hitch occurred quickly when the screen displays the image skinny teenager when he described how Hollywood producers reject a dynamic live show that is guaranteed to interfere with his attempts to gain weight for latest film "X-Men."
Subsequent trouble with dressing occurred as a result of vigorous jump under a bit clumsy mishmash songs about how he likes being the man who sings and dances. But he definitely made the audience worried when stripped to his underpants to change into after his dresser named Nancy flew out from behind the scenes with a new pair of pants.

Unobtrusive singing Jackman, humorous conversation and good contact with the public only reinforces the sense of stardom. He chatted with seven years of a child in the front row, joked with Jen Weale * (who flew down the hat), teased a few good-natured people about their inability to dance and the soul had fun when a fan threw on the scene handcuffed.

But seriously - even though that was dominated by cheerful, flat jokes and a stunning smile Jackman - he sang a seven-minute 'Soliloquy' Billy Bigelow in "Carousel" (he said it was "a complicated piece of music»); 'Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin 'from the musical "Oklahoma!" and' Tenterfield Saddler 'Peter Allen (Australian song of the boy from Oz).

Didgeridoo musicians playing on several occasions in the spotlight shifted to the touching version of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'. Dressed in a shiny shirt open after the scheduled change of costume, Jackman played a few scenes from 'The Boy from Oz' - the play in which the role of Allen's colorful Australian songwriter, he won the Tony Award. He showed excerpts from some of his films and sang songs from movies such as the theme from "Arthur», "As Time Goes By", "Jailhouse Rock", "Staying Alive", "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "(I 've Had) The Time of My Life ".

Pop Heaven continued when he was joined by guest star Richard Marx to perform their version of the song "Right Here Waiting" (1989) before the end of the presentation, when Jackman left the audience in musical theater heaven quite sentimental "Once Before I Go".
