Anyone now who believe that they are into this show business should consider themselves lucky enough because Hugh Jackman here is starting a performing arts foundation which I think would be beneficial for all the current emerging new talents out there looking for a platform to extend their career in this show business. Below is the excerpt from the report as compiled earlier by SMH:=

"Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman and his actress wife Deborra-Lee Furness are starting up a new charitable foundation to support the performing arts in Australia.

Jackman took to Twitter to announce the initiative and posted a picture of the foundation's logo.

"Announcing the Jackman Furness Foundation for the Performing Arts. We Hope it'll make dreams come true," he tweeted.

The foundation will support art education groups in Australia.

With Australian veteran actor Jack Thompson as a founding patron, the foundation has set a goal to raise at least $10 million over the next your years, according to The West Australian newspaper.

Jackman and Furness will officially launch the foundation at a special event to be held at the WA Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) on May 17.

"Deborra-Lee and Hugh are both passionate about supporting the performing arts, and excited to be launching their foundation in Perth where Hugh's career began," foundation trustee Geoff Michael told the newspaper.

Jackman, best known for his role as Wolverine, graduated from WAAPA in 1994. He is an acoomplished stage actor and received a 2004 Tony Award for his performance in the Broadway musical The Boy From Oz about Australian entertainer Peter Allen.

His one-man show, Hugh Jackman - Back on Broadway in 2011 was a box office hit - routinely posting weekly grosses of $US1.5 million ($A1.68 million).

Jackman will host the 2014 Tony Awards on June 8"
